Job description

JOB TITLE: ROV Tooling Technician

LOCATION: Offshore

Job Purpose:

The primary function of this position is to provide support for the offshore execution of ROV Tooling projects. This role is responsible for the mobilisation, operation, maintenance, and demobilisation of ROV Tooling equipment on client vessels and onshore locations. Additionally, the role involves assisting in technology development and continual improvement of equipment and services.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
  • Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or other technical discipline and/or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a technician role undertaking repair, maintenance, and testing of ROV Tooling equipment, preferably in a subsea environment.
  • Experience in electrics/fault finding is desirable.
  • Extensive knowledge of ROV Tooling, Torque Tools, Valve Packs, Cutters, LAOT’S, IHPU’S.
  • Problem-solving capabilities.
  • Solid understanding of hydraulics/electrics, ability to read schematics including fault finding.
  • Ability to read and implement engineering drawings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities:
  • Inspect, repair, and operate ROV Tooling.
  • Complete daily progress reports.
  • Ensure equipment is kept in a state of readiness.
  • Operate and maintain Tooling Deployment Unit (TDU).
  • Operate and maintain various skids including injection and dredge.
  • Carry out repairs to ROV equipment.
  • Provide technical support to customers.
  • Attend mobilisations and site interface testing.
  • Assemble equipment and integrate ROV.
  • Ensure all equipment is accounted for and properly packed during demobilisation.
  • Adhere to Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality policies, and industry standards.
  • Follow hierarchy of controls as laid out in company risk assessments for various tasks.
  • Attend the facility to ensure equipment readiness and familiarisation prior to mobilisation.
  • Occasionally assist in the facilities.
