Job description

Currently recruiting for an experienced ROV Support Engineer on a contract basis for a subsea company based in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen. It is an ongoing long-term contract position, and the company are only considering PAYE contractors for this particular role. This role would suit an experienced ROV Pilot Technician/Supervisor who is keen to transition from an offshore environment to an onshore-based support position.

The ROV Support Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Providing technical and operational support to ROV systems.
  • Carrying out support activities related to loading out of ROV systems, including checking and preparing workshop spares, preparing inventories, carrying out system pre-mob checks, etc.
  • Processing received offshore MRs and assisting with expediting as required, including clarification on part queries.
  • Monitoring receipt of ROV maintenance and technical reports, and reviewing/actioning any issues identified.
  • Coordinating re-certification activities for the ROV systems offshore.
  • Ensuring all ROV critical spares checks are conducted and that shortfalls are actioned in a timely manner.
  • Coordinating spare parts shipments to ROV systems offshore.
  • Processing and following up on actions related to Damage/Malfunction/Failure (DMF) reports that are received from the ROV systems.
  • Participating in the ‘on-call’ duty rota.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • An Engineering degree qualification would be preferred.
  • Previous offshore experience in an ROV Pilot Technician/Supervisor type role is essential.
  • Previous experience with mechanical & hydraulic equipment refurbishments, as well as winch/A-frame recertification activities, is essential.
