Job Purpose

The role of the ROV Engineer is to provide operational and technical engineering support within the ROV department. This support includes project assistance, tooling, maintenance, dry dockings, and research and development.

Job Description

  1. Provide engineering, ROV, and remote intervention support within the department.
  2. Prepare project procedures and technical reports related to remote intervention activities.
  3. Develop cost-effective remote intervention solutions and support from concept to completion.
  4. Assist with tendering processes.
  5. Ensure checked calculations are prepared for ROV equipment prior to offshore mobilization.
  6. Create standard layouts and calculations for ROV installations.
  7. Source, audit, and supply third-party equipment as needed.
  8. Contribute to 'Best Practice' remote intervention procedures.
  9. Support project and ROV teams both onshore and offshore, aiding in planning and execution.
  10. Participate in SITs, FATs, HAZIDs, and operational reviews as required.
  11. Review and comment on procedures and equipment prepared by project teams.
  12. Ensure ROV systems are operational, ready, and meet project specifications.
  13. Coordinate and manage ROV mobilizations and rental tooling.
  14. Monitor system performance and report findings.
  15. Maintain effective control of planned and preventative maintenance.
  16. Keep system inventories up to date.

  • An appropriate engineering degree.
  • Good knowledge of current Health and Safety regulations.
  • Global mobility.
  • Offshore operational experience.
  • Knowledge of ROV systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
