Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking, enthusiastic experienced Band or Band Physiotherapist with a specialist interest in respiratory care to join our rotation as part of the cardio-respiratory team.

The rotation program offers diverse experience in acute and chronic care settings, working alongside highly respected clinicians at John Radcliffe Hospital and Churchill Hospital. Current rotations include:

  • Critical Care Services: Adult Critical Care, Neuro Intensive Care
  • Acute Respiratory Services: Respiratory Medicine, Respiratory Outreach
  • Surgery & Rehabilitation: Cancer Surgery, Vascular Surgery
  • Long Term Respiratory Conditions: CF & Bronchiectasis, Sleep & Ventilation

Rotations are grouped into specialty areas to ensure comprehensive experience, with opportunities for staff to make preferences within each group. Each rotation lasts several months.

You will be encouraged to participate in CPD, improvement projects, and to provide supervision and teaching to junior staff, students, and the wider MDT. You will be supported by experienced lead physiotherapists to enhance your respiratory and leadership skills.

Main Duties
  • Provide high-quality, safe, and effective physiotherapy services across services within the rotation as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Collaborate with patients and carers to assess, goal plan, and treat patients post-admission, aiming to maximize independence and quality of life.
  • Supervise and teach recently qualified physiotherapists, support workers, and students.
  • Participate actively in quality improvement, clinical audit, and research projects.
  • Engage in extended hours, including weekends and overnight on-call services, to maximize care access.
