Job description

Job Requirements and Responsibilities

Candidates must have a degree in Physiotherapy and HCPC registration, or be due to qualify within the next 3 months. Please read the attached Job Description thoroughly before submitting your application.

Key Skills and Responsibilities
  1. Communication / Relationship Skills: Communicate effectively with colleagues and multidisciplinary team (MDT) regarding patient care. Maintain accurate records in line with standards and policies. Gather and disseminate information appropriately. Manage potentially stressful, upsetting, or emotional situations empathetically.
  2. Analytical / Judgment Skills: Carry out assessments and formulate treatment plans using clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice. Work within your scope of practice and seek support when necessary.
  3. Personal and People Development: Attend relevant training to maintain competency and confidence. Supervise physiotherapy students or therapy assistants. Participate in the appraisal scheme as an appraisee.
  4. Health, Safety, and Security: Complete relevant risk assessments and related documentation. Demonstrate physical ability to perform physiotherapy assessments and interventions, including manual techniques, involving light to moderate physical effort.
  5. Education: Engage in professional development and training for yourself and other therapists. Participate in clinical reasoning and patient sessions. Attend training sessions as a participant and facilitator.
  6. Research / Audit / Quality: Evaluate your clinical effectiveness. Undertake and present evidence-based projects.
  7. IT Responsibilities: Ensure accurate input of clinical information into the trust IT system.
  8. General Responsibilities: Responsible for health, safety, and welfare of yourself and others. Maintain confidentiality at all times. Participate in weekend service on a rota basis as required.
