Job Overview

  • 9 month and 12 month fixed term contracts to start in October 2025

We are seeking enthusiastic and well-motivated Physiotherapists to join our four-monthly junior rotational programme across both in and out-patient settings at the Wexham and Heatherwood sites.

Rotations are of 4 months in the following specialties:

  • Medicine
  • Surgery/ITU
  • Orthopaedics
  • MSK OP (Hydro/Gym/Main Department/ Hands)
  • Stroke
  • Paediatrics

Under the guidance of an experienced team, you'll develop clinically and managerially within a friendly environment that encourages excellence. Regular support, supervision, and training will be provided, and you'll be passionate about MDT working and service development.

Please note that a face-to-face interview is required.

Main duties of the job
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, using clinical reasoning and manual assessment techniques to diagnose conditions.
  • Develop prognoses and intervention plans, setting goals for discharge.
  • Manage patients with delegated responsibilities from Senior physiotherapists, including assessment and treatment within your rotation.
  • Evaluate and modify treatment programs based on patient progress.
  • Involve in teaching, planning, and supervising physiotherapy technical instructors and assistants.
  • Participate in weekend services, approximately 1 Saturday or Sunday every 4 weeks.
  • Use effective communication tools to support patient understanding and self-management.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate findings to the MDT.
  • Ensure professional standards are met in practice and supervision.
  • Organize and plan your caseload, adjusting as needed.
  • Supervise physiotherapy staff and ensure the safe use of equipment.
Person specification
Qualifications

Essential: HPC Registration, Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy

Desirable: NHS experience as a student/assistant

Competencies

Essential: Clear communication, self-reflection, ability to work under pressure

Desirable: Ability to present to groups

Professional

Core placements, including respiratory, with demonstrated competency

Experience in inpatient and outpatient settings is desirable

Special

Willingness to work flexibly, participate in rotation, 7-day working, and respiratory on-call duties
