NHS Ayrshire and Arran is seeking x2 Rotational Pharmacy Technicians to support pharmaceutical services at University Hospital Ayr and University Hospital Crosshouse. The role involves technical support, collaboration with healthcare professionals, and participation in weekend and holiday rotas. Candidates must be qualified pharmacy technicians with relevant experience and qualifications.

Position:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a x2 Rotational Pharmacy Technicians , one position based at University Hospital Ayr and the other based at University Hospital Crosshouse.
What you will do:
An opportunity has arisen for a pharmacy technician to participate in the provision of pharmaceutical services to each of the Acute hospitals. The role will provide technical support to the redesign of pharmacy services across the Acute sites in Ayrshire and Arran through providing continued support to developing and contributing to the pharmaceutical aspects as part of the team who are developing comprehensive services.
You will be responsible along with the other Pharmacy Technicians for supporting the provision, and development of the Technical aspects across dispensing, distribution, aseptic and clinical areas including of the Combined Assessment Unit (CAU) and Near Patient Dispensing (NPD) Key responsibilities may change in line with the needs of the service but will include liaising with clinical pharmacists, consultants and nurses about patient's medication and discharge planning. In addition, you will participate in supporting the provision of the department service undertaking pharmacy technician roles and responsibilities along with your role as an Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
You will have experience of working in pharmacy as a qualified pharmacy technician and be registered in the UK. You will possess the qualification: SQA Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician and/or must obtain both the PDA Assessment & Supply of individual patient’s medicines and the L&D9DI Assessor for SVQ – Pharmacy Services.

Hours:
37 hours per week.
You will participate in the weekend, departmental and public holiday rotas. The pharmacy service is provided from 8am to 8pm in the CAU and the successful candidate will participate in this extended hours’ rota. In accordance with AFC terms and conditions you may be required to work over 7 days and/or an extended working day.
Driving Licence/Car Ownership:
A car licence/car ownership is essential to this role.
