Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Rotational Pharmacist to join our team at NHS Jobs in Liverpool. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing a proactive clinically oriented pharmacy service, adhering to professional, departmental, and Trust policies. As a Rotational Pharmacist, you will be responsible for delivering a clinical pharmacy service to a designated clinical specialty or patient group. Key duties include:

  • Taking medication histories from patients on admission
  • Reviewing patients’ medication to ensure safe and effective use
  • Formulating individual patient pharmaceutical care plans
  • Conducting therapeutic level monitoring for specific medicines
  • Educating patients about their medicinal therapy
  • Participating in consultant ward rounds
  • Facilitating the implementation of local and national guidelines
  • Challenging inappropriate prescribing

In addition to clinical responsibilities, the Rotational Pharmacist will be involved in clinical and, where appropriate, final dispensing checks within the pharmacy system, ensuring compliance with safe systems of work. The role includes providing professional and legal clinical supervision in the dispensary, as well as participating in and supervising technical staff in patient counseling for outpatient, inpatient, and day-case patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver clinical and final dispensing checks within the pharmacy system
  • Provide professional and legal clinical supervision in the dispensary
  • Participate in and supervise technical staff in patient counseling
  • Provide Medicines Information services to healthcare professionals and the general public
