Job summary

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking enthusiastic Occupational Therapists to join a Band 5 rotation across St Mary’s, Charing Cross and Hammersmith hospitals. Rotations occur every six months, spanning elective orthopaedics, stroke and neuroscience, cardiology, medicine and more.

The role involves patient-centred therapy in hospital and community settings, with a focus on professional accountability, education for patients and carers, and ongoing CPPD development.

Qualifications

• Active registration as an Occupational Therapist or eligible to register.
• Ability to plan and deliver patient-centred therapy services.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver a patient centred therapy service to patients in hospital and in the community.
• Be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work and patient care.
• Routinely provide advice, education and support to patients and carers.
• Demonstrate effective communication during ward rounds, meetings and case conferences.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records in line with legal requirements and trust guidelines.
• Collect, collate and report statistical information per department policy.
• Develop clinical and teaching skills via CPPD and maintain a CPPD portfolio.
• Participate in the Band 5 peer support group.
• Build and sustain professional relationships as an independent practitioner and team member.
