A leading healthcare provider in Scotland is seeking a dedicated midwife to join their Birth at Home Team. This role involves supporting women during their pregnancy journey, providing personalized care, and participating in a 24-hour on-call rota. The successful candidate will work within a dynamic team, ensuring continuity of care across various settings. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a midwife to join our Birth at Home Team. The team is based within Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline, providing care for women and families across all parts of Fife.
The successful candidate will support women throughout their pregnancy journey, providing individualised care to a caseload of women. The role involves participating in a 24-hour on-call rota for birth at home, offering care in various settings, and traveling throughout Fife. Competency in perineal repair and NIPE would be advantageous.
The Birth at Home Team ensures continuity of care during the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods. NHS Fife's three community midwifery teams are based at Queen Margaret Hospital (West Fife), Victoria Hospital (central Fife), and St Andrews Hospital (North East Fife). The team collaborates with these teams and a wider multidisciplinary group to support women and families, respecting individual needs and preferences.
We are a dynamic, progressive, and friendly team. The unit is modern, with approximately 3500 births per year. Our services include outpatient, community, complex care at a Consultant Unit, and an alongside Midwife Led Unit. We are developing services aligned with Best Start recommendations, focusing on increasing continuity of care. Our team includes specialists for vulnerable pregnancies, child protection, perinatal mental health, bereavement, and infant nutrition.
