A leading healthcare facility in King's Lynn is searching for a Band 2 Maternity Care Assistant. This role involves providing direct care to women and their families under supervision, working alongside registered practitioners and supporting routine care tasks. Candidates should be prepared to work towards a Level 2 Diploma in Healthcare and the Care Certificate, contributing to high standards within maternity services. This position offers a holistic work environment with a focus on staff development.
As the successful post holder, you will be expected to work towards Level 2 Diploma in Healthcare and the Care Certificate.
Uses general skills to enhance the service offered to women and their families across a range of aspects of maternity service delivery under the close supervision of a registrant, ordinarily a midwife or Band 4 Maternity Support Worker practitioner.
Level 2 Maternity Care Assistants work alongside registered practitioners and other members of the maternity care team, providing direct care to women and their families accessing hospital-based services. They may undertake basic care tasks as part of routine care for women and their babies, following appropriately trained care plans under supervision.
Under the direction of the Registered Midwife, you will work with all members of the multidisciplinary team to provide high standards of patient care within maternity services.
The Maternity Care Assistant may be required to assist in any clinical area within the Maternity Department in response to service demand.
You will also support the implementation and delivery of continuity of carer pathways in line with the Better Births report’s recommendations.
