Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) invites applications for a Band 6 Foundation Pharmacist (Rotational) based at Inverclyde Royal Hospital with rotations across the Clyde sector. The post offers structured training, broad clinical exposure and support for professional development.

The role focuses on delivering high‑quality pharmaceutical care, multidisciplinary collaboration, and safe, cost‑effective prescribing.

Qualifications

Master's Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent.
Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Completion of pre-registration training and successful registration assessment.
Commitment to Vocational Foundation Training and ongoing development.
Knowledge of current medicines legislation and professional standards.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality pharmaceutical care across a range of specialties and wards.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and ward rounds.
Review, monitor and optimise medicines use to ensure safe, effective and cost-efficient prescribing.
Provide medicines information to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals.
Support seamless care through effective communication with primary and secondary care colleagues.
Contribute to clinical governance, service improvement, audits and quality initiatives.
