Job summary

South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Rotational Clinical Pharmacist for a 12‑month fixed‑term post to support winter pressures. You will rotate across clinical areas, deliver patient‑centred pharmaceutical care, and provide medicines information and prescribing support to multidisciplinary teams.

Applicants may be hospital pharmacy staff or eligible to qualify as a pharmacist in August 2026; community pharmacists are welcome.

Qualifications

• Hospital pharmacy experience, or nearing eligibility as a pharmacist in Aug 2026.
• GPhC registration in place or pending renewal.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise in a busy clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide medicines information and prescribing support to clinical teams.
• Assist in audits, clinical trials and service improvement initiatives.
• Participate in training, mentoring and education activities for staff and students.
• Undertake dispensing and checking duties with accuracy and safety.
• Rotate through key operational and clinical areas and participate in on‑call rotas.

To deliver high‑quality clinical pharmacy services across the Trust by providing patient‑centred pharmaceutical care, supporting safe and effective medicines use, and contributing to the development, education, and continuous improvement of pharmacy services. The post holder will rotate through key operational and clinical areas, undertake dispensing and checking duties, provide medicines information and prescribing support, participate in audits and clinical trials work, contribute to training and mentoring, and take part in evening, weekend, bank holiday, and on‑call rotas. They must maintain GPhC registration and adhere to all Trust and Pharmacy policies while supporting service provision across all Trust sites.
