10 month, fixed-term contract for maternity leave cover.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Physiotherapist to join our dynamic and cohesive Integrated Therapy Team at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. We offer a rotational programme within our team working across a variety of different areas including Urgent Care, Critical Care, Surgical Wards and Speciality Medical Wards, Community Neurology Rehabilitation, Adult Community Therapy, Community MSK, Outpatients, Inpatient Stroke team, Discharge to Assess services, Inpatient Neuro Rehabilitation and Pulmonary Rehab.

We are looking for individuals who are proactive, forward thinking and resilient. People who use their initiative and have the ability to work on their own and as part of a team. Excellent communication, organisational skills and strong leadership skills are required, as well as being adaptable to our ever changing and pressurised environments.

Post will require working in an out of hours emergency on call respiratory service. Requirement to work on a seven day rota for several services covered in the rotational contract.

ESSENTIAL: Access to own car with a valid driver’s license in order to travel across the locality of Stockport for domiciliary community working (or suitable alternative transport arrangements).

The post will involve assessment and treatment of patients to promote earlier hospital discharge (transfer of care) with a home first ethos. You will work as part of an integrated team to improve flow and quality of the patient journey. Your caseload will be variable and comprise of some complex conditions; therefore applicants must have a broad range of previous experience including working in an acute NHS setting.

The successful candidate will require a flexible approach to working, including weekends and bank holidays. There is a responsibility for Respiratory on Call evening and weekend duties, which is underpinned by teaching and a competency programme.

We have a strong commitment to support all staff members with CPD opportunities. We are fortunate enough to have a number of clinical leads to support you and provide clinical supervision time. We have a robust in-service training programme. You will have the opportunity to support and develop band 5 therapists within the team and act as a clinical educator to students.
