Job description
Overview

The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is recruiting to its Physiotherapy Band 5 rotation scheme. This consists of over 20 different speciality areas including MSK outpatients, Trauma, Elective, Acute stroke, Early Supported Discharge, Level 1 Brain Injury Unit, Level 2 Neuro Rehab unit, Oncology, Paediatric inpatients and outpatients, Acute medicine, Rapid assessment and discharge, Respiratory medicine, ITU and Surgery, Cardiology, Renal, Vascular, Pelvic Health, Medical rehab. Rotations are 4 months long. This is a 37.5 hour per week permanent post on Band 5.

Reports to: Physiotherapy Clinical Specialist, Therapy Team Leader, Head of Therapies. Site: Cross Site. Please note that only face to face interviews will be held for this post.

There is a thorough induction process, preceptorship package, clinical supervision and in-service training supported through appraisals and 1:1 meetings. There are opportunities to take part in audit and research, service development, external training courses and conferences. You will be supported by experienced clinicians and leaders and there are opportunities for career development and secondments into higher band posts within the organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a high standard of physiotherapy care as part of a responsive and patient-centred service.
  • Effectively manage an autonomous clinical caseload and undertake duties as a qualified Physiotherapist under supervision of senior staff.
  • Evidence competency and effective clinical reasoning.
  • Work with the MDT to provide holistic care for patients.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge and skills within the specialty.
  • Advocate for the patient and their carers.
  • Stay up to date on local and national issues affecting patient care.
  • Collaborate to support colleagues and their development.
  • Raise concerns when appropriate.
Qualifications and requirements
  • Physiotherapist registered with the appropriate regulatory body (Band 5 level).
  • Willingness to work across multiple specialty rotations and participate in a four-month rotation schedule.
  • Committed to completing core competencies within the first six months of employment under the training agreement.
