Job description

We have an opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic band 5 Occupational Therapist to work on a rotational basis across acute and community areas within Grimsby acute and community. Together, we aim to deliver high-quality services across various clinical areas, with core rotations lasting 6 months, including medicine, stroke, frailty, and intermediate care/community settings. Additionally, there are opportunities to gain exposure to specialist clinical areas such as hand therapy and pediatrics.

This is an exciting opportunity for newly qualified or experienced band 5 occupational therapists to develop skills and experience working across both acute and community services.

The successful applicants will receive formal support from senior staff, including preceptorship during the first year, along with regular supervision and appraisal. You will be responsible for managing your own caseload of patients and participating in quality assurance processes for work allocation. The rotations include community settings and outreach, requiring travel across the county. You will work closely with social care staff and nurses.

As a junior clinician, you will hold a standard caseload and have the support to make evidence-based clinical decisions across a range of physical patient conditions. You are expected to work autonomously, managing and prioritizing your caseload.

The Humber Health Partnership is one of the largest NHS acute and community partnerships, serving over one million patients annually with a budget of over £1.3 billion. It comprises two Trusts: Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG) and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH). The partnership employs nearly 20,000 staff across five hospital sites: Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital, Goole and District Hospital, Hull Royal Infirmary, and Castle Hill Hospital.

Both Trusts are teaching hospitals working with the Hull York Medical School, leading and contributing to research in biomedical sciences, primary care, palliative medicine, cardiovascular and respiratory medicine, vascular surgery, cancer surgery, and oncology.

We are committed to developing a diverse, inclusive, innovative, skilled, and caring workforce to deliver excellent patient care and foster a positive future for our employees, partnership, and community.
