Job summary

NES Fircroft is recruiting a Mechanical Maintenance Technician for a major energy site at Wytch Farm, Dorset. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance on rotating equipment and related systems, ensuring reliability, safety and efficiency of production assets.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or equivalent in mechanical engineering required.
• HNC or equivalent engineering qualification preferred.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding experience.
• Good knowledge of rotating machinery and related systems.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Energy or similar process environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned, preventive and breakdown maintenance on pumps, compressors, engines, fans and gearboxes.
• Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems and associated piping, valves and PSVs.
• Carry out lubrication, sealing, fuel and water system maintenance and checks.
• Diagnose faults and identify reliability improvements.
• Participate in failure investigations and corrective actions.
• Raise work requests and maintain maintenance documentation.
• Develop and review maintenance and operating procedures.
• Support project, commissioning and modification activities.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors as needed.
• Raise and manage permits in line with site procedures.
• Attend operations meetings and provide maintenance updates.
• Adhere to company HSE standards and promote a strong safety culture.
• Identify opportunities to improve plant reliability and reduce costs.
