Job description

Rotating Equipment Engineer | Oil & Gas | Onshore 2/2 Rotation | East of England

We are seeking a Rotating Equipment Engineer to join a high-performing maintenance team within a major oil & gas operator. The role is based at a key UK gas terminal with travel across onshore and offshore assets as needed. The primary focus is maximizing the availability and reliability of high-speed rotating equipment such as gas turbines, compressors, and generators.

You will be responsible for planned maintenance, work scopes, performance monitoring, and failure analysis across a diverse fleet. The role involves managing vendors, strategy development, diagnostics, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Equipment you will work with includes:
  • Siemens SGT-600, SGT-A35, and SGT-100-2S turbines
  • Ruston TB5400s
  • Solar Centaur 40
  • Howden screw compressors
  • Dresser Rand centrifugal compressors
Candidate requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of high-speed rotating machinery, both theoretical and practical
  • Engineering degree or HND/HNC (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience managing overhauls, vendor relationships, and maintenance planning
  • Proactive, safety-first mindset with a passion for equipment reliability
Work setup:

Location: Bacton gas terminal with field-based travel
Shift rotation: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off (mainly onshore)
Type: Permanent role with development prospects
