Job summary

The Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 5 Diagnostic Radiographer to join our imaging team. You will rotate through department areas, perform general X-ray examinations, and adhere to radiation protection and NHS regulations. The role includes night, weekend, and on-call shifts in a busy clinical setting.

Qualifications

• A good working knowledge of radiographic techniques.
• Working successfully with the multidisciplinary team.
• BSc in Radiography or equivalent.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of diagnostic imaging examinations (mainly general X-rays) safely and accurately.
• Ensure high standards of patient care, including explaining procedures and obtaining consent.
• Position patients correctly to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging equipment in line with departmental protocols and safety standards.
• Follow radiation protection guidelines to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and yourself.
• Check images for quality and accuracy before submission for reporting.
• Carry out daily equipment checks and QA procedures.
• Maintain IPC standards and keep crash trolley stocked.
