One of our wonderful, kind, warm families is looking for a new rota nanny in Notting Hill. They currently have one of our rota nannies and both sides are super happy!
The family has 2 school aged daughters and are in need of a genuinely kind, caring, loving nanny to start May / June and stay with them for years!
The rota schedule is 1 week on/ off (24/7).
Nanny must speak fluent English to be able to help with the girls' homework, which will grow in complexity over the coming years.
Nanny must be able to drive, to take the children to school on occasion and to activities and playdates. Mum is happy for you to spend some time going to the gym, going for a walk or meeting a friend while the girls are at school.
You should be a pet lover as this warm and loving family has a cat and 2 dogs.
Mum works and this role is a mix of sole care and shared care. You need to be ok with mum being around. Mum is really lovely, easy to chat to, open minded and very kind.
Nanny must muck in with household duties when children at school. Shopping, walking dog, tidying, organising, cooking for children, light admin, school communications, errands such as buying presents for children's birthday parties, ensuring the school uniforms are always cleaned and ready, school bags packed, arranging activities etc.
This rota position is 24/7 on a 1 week rota schedule. Live In when on rota and live out when off rota. But nanny should live within short commute of London. Mum works full time and sometimes travels for work, there will be a mixture of sole and shared care and occasional proxy parenting. Over Christmas, Easter and summer the family is often away. They would like their nanny to join them (not always, as the other rota nanny might be on rota instead. At these times the rota period might change temporarily, to allow for a longer period of time away (2 or 3 weeks)
Every 2nd weekend the girls go to their father, who lives 10 minutes away. You would accompany them, but would not need to stay overnight, as they come home to sleep.
They are looking for a flexibly minded, down to earth nanny who is happy to muck in. Someone with the right attitude, putting the family and in particular girls first is essential.
The family employs a housekeeper and cleaner, so housework and cooking is mostly not required, but nanny should be able to cook nutritious meals.
The children are very outdoorsy, so a nanny who is genuinely outdoorsy too would be important for them. They are allowed limited screen time at the weekends, and sugar is not forbidden. A balance is important.
Mum seeks a nanny who is loving and fun, yet able to set appropriate boundaries. Nanny will naturally be a role model to the 2 girls.
Nanny should always think ahead, plan and anticipate. Always have plan B & C in mind, as plan A does not always go to plan. Mum needs to be able to rely on nanny completely. They will be part of the parent team.
They have a lovely home and a happy home and want nanny to fit in well.
The family is ready to interview asap, and can offer trials asap

Requirements

Fluent English speaking nanny
Confident driver (car provided)
Demonstrate longevity in your recent roles (working for min 2 or 3 years for a family)
Must have previous experience of travelling with your nanny family.
Must be ok with family's 2 dogs (1 med-large, other small) and cat
Experience with children aged 4-7 yrs
Previous rota experience and / or live in experience is preferred but not essential
Had considerable experience in sole charge of 2 young children and also with shared care.
Proxy parenting experience very useful.
Living within short commute of London
Up to date Enhanced DBS and be on the DBS update service. (we can help you apply)
Recent Paediatric First Aid certificate (within 3 yrs)
Right to work in UK
Full passport for international travel Good references for recent and relevant nanny work and jobs that have each lasted a good length of time.
Able to run after young children
Be available long term
Must be tidy and clean and happy to keep home environment tidy and clean
Must be happy to muck in and do household related jobs and errands while children at school (mum is ok for you to also go to the gym or go for a walk once other tasks are completed)
