Job summary

VD Recruitment is recruiting for a Room Leader in a thriving bilingual nursery in Clapham, London. The role is full-time and permanent, based in Clapham with a 40-hour week and a salary of £28,000–£32,000 per annum.

The ideal candidate will hold a Level 3 childcare qualification or above, with at least two years post-qualification experience, and strong EYFS knowledge. You will provide a safe, stimulating environment and work closely with staff, parents and professionals.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare or higher.
• At least two years post-qualification experience, preferably one year in a senior role.
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS, good communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality care and activities for children in a secure, stimulating environment.
• Familiarise yourself with nursery policies, especially safeguarding, equal opportunities and health and safety.
• Ensure parent issues are addressed promptly and accurately; keep management informed.
• Participate in room and staff meetings and assist in various duties as required.
• Support SENCO and Equal Opportunities coordinators in their roles.
• Attend training and development as directed by management.
• Promote positive relationships between staff, parents and children and uphold the nursery's ethos.
• Carry out health and safety checks to keep the room and nursery safe and tidy.
• Encourage self-choice and independence through free-flow systems.
• Keep child profiles up to date and ensure access to outdoor areas.
