Job description

Nursery: Bright Horizons Finsbury Park Day Nursery and Preschool

Salary: Starting from £29,845.20 per annum (dependent on qualification/s and experience)

Location: Finsbury Park, London

We are looking for a full time, Level 3 qualified Room Leader to join our Bright Horizons Finsbury Park nursery, which is situated in the heart of Finsbury Park. The nursery offers excellent links to rail, tube and bus stations. The nearest rail and tube stations to the nursery are Finsbury Park underground station (10 minute walk), Finsbury Park Railway station (9 minute walk) and Crouch Hill Rail station (9 minute walk). We have buses 210, W3 and W7 that are close to the nursery. This role can be over 5 days or 4 long days and is for the Baby Room.

Our Bright Horizons Finsbury Park is Ofsted rated “Good” and is a light, spacious, purpose-built day nursery all on one level with all rooms having direct access to outdoor garden areas.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead, mentor and inspire a team to deliver exceptional care and education
  • Ensure the learning environment provides consistent stimulation and engaging activities for the children, across both the indoor and outdoor areas
  • Deliver and plan rich learning opportunities and exceptional care, to help all children to develop and meet their individual milestones
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with colleagues, parents and/or carers, as well as other professionals, to meet the individual needs of each child
  • Promote and ensure child welfare, protection, health and safety and safeguarding
  • Work with colleagues to maintain a positive, happy and safe environment

What we’re looking for

  • Full and Relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification (essential)
  • Previous experience working within an Early Years setting - ideally as a Room Leader, Nursery Nurse, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator or similar
  • Sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the wider legislative requirements for working with children
  • Ability to build trust and strong working relationships with both colleagues and parents
  • Ability to use a variety of communication techniques with both children and adults
