Job summary

Shiraka Ltd in Sunbury is seeking a Nursery Room Leader for the over-2s room. You will oversee staff, plan activities, and ensure routines are followed to deliver high-quality early years care.

The role requires enthusiasm, strong communication, and the ability to build relationships with children, parents, and staff. Training is provided to bring you up to speed, with clear opportunities for career progression.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 Early years qualification (NNEB/CACHE/BTEC/NVQ).
• Experience with children aged 0–5 years.
• Experience planning activities for nursery rooms.
• Good knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding and first aid.
• Knowledge/experience meeting needs of children and families.
• Experience maintaining accurate records and children’s profiles.
• Strong verbal reasoning and listening skills.
• Ability to build relationships with children.

Responsibilities

• View and update planning sheets; record-keeping for staff in your room.
• Ensure routines are followed and run smoothly.
• Implement decisions in the room and maintain them.
• Ensure all policies and procedures are followed by staff.
• Be an excellent role model to staff.
