Job description

We are recruiting a level 3 Room Leader to join a lovely nursery based in Hither Green, Lewisham. Candidates must be energetic, friendly, and have a genuine passion for working with children under 3 years.

Person Specification:

• NVQ Level 3 Childcare qualification
• Experience working in a childcare setting and supporting children's development
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (Desirable)
• Pediatric First Aid (Desirable)

Responsibilities of the Room Leader include:

• Supporting and directing staff in the room and ensuring adult/child ratios are met
• Working with the EYFS Curriculum and planning engaging activities for children
• Ensuring staff complete regular observations and assessments on key children
• Building trusting relationships with parents and carers
• Ensuring compliance with the nursery's Health & Safety and Safeguarding policies
• Attending parents' evenings and participating in open days, sports days, summer fairs, etc.
• Maintaining confidentiality
• Working 40 hours per week
