Job description

Nursery: Bright Horizons Dorking Day Nursery and Preschool

Salary: £27,797 - £33,440 (dependant on qualification/s and experience)

We are looking for a full time, Level 3 qualified Room Leader to join our Bright Horizons Dorking Nursery & Preschool where you can not only will we offer you a very competitive salary within the area, access to many offers and benefits and situated very close to all local amenities. We are very close to Dorking train station and the 465, 32, 93 and 21 bus routes.

We expect our Practitioners to have fun when joining our team and can lead various activities in our activity room, well-being room where we offer Yoga sessions to the children and story sessions in our cosy reading room and sports sessions in our large outdoor space.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead, mentor and inspire a team to deliver exceptional care and education
  • Ensure the learning environment provides consistent stimulation and engaging activities for the children, across both the indoor and outdoor areas
  • Deliver and plan rich learning opportunities and exceptional care, to help all children to develop and meet their individual milestones
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with colleagues, parents and/or carers, as well as other professionals, to meet the individual needs of each child
  • Promote and ensure child welfare, protection, health and safety and safeguarding
  • Work with colleagues to maintain a positive, happy and safe environment

What we’re looking for

  • Full and Relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification (essential)
  • Previous experience working within an Early Years setting - ideally as a Room Leader, Nursery Nurse, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator or similar
  • Sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the wider legislative requirements for working with children
  • Ability to build trust and strong working relationships with both colleagues and parents
  • Ability to use a variety of communication techniques with both children and adults
