Job description

Nursery: Bright Horizons Chineham Park Day Nursery and Preschool

Salary: £28,392 - £33,800 p/a (dependant on qualification/s and experience)

Location: Chineham, Hampshire

We are looking for a full time, Level 3 qualified Room Leader to join our OFSTED Outstanding Bright Horizons Chineham Park Day Nursery and Preschool, situated in Chineham Business Park Basingstoke, accessible by car, bus and on foot.

If you have a love for animals as well as children, we are the nursery for you! Onsite we have Gary and Dotty our goats, Hank, Tank and Frank our fish, Gertie, Bertie, Hennie, Mable and Nugget our chickens and Honey and Amelio our Rabbits.

As well as our small farm, we have a unique layout and breakout spaces such as curiosity experiences and large home from home rooms. For our team, a focus on wellbeing includes wellbeing cafes, bespoke learning opportunities, wellbeing ambassadors and progression opportunities.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead, mentor and inspire a team to deliver exceptional care and education
  • Ensure the learning environment provides consistent stimulation and engaging activities for the children, across both the indoor and outdoor areas
  • Deliver and plan rich learning opportunities and exceptional care, to help all children to develop and meet their individual milestones
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with colleagues, parents and/or carers, as well as other professionals, to meet the individual needs of each child
  • Promote and ensure child welfare, protection, health and safety and safeguarding
  • Work with colleagues to maintain a positive, happy and safe environment

What we’re looking for

  • Full and Relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification (essential)
  • Previous experience working within an Early Years setting - ideally as a Room Leader, Nursery Nurse, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator or similar
  • Sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the wider legislative requirements for working with children
  • Ability to build trust and strong working relationships with both colleagues and parents
  • Ability to use a variety of communication techniques with both children and adults
