Job Description
Job title: Room Attendant

Salary: £33,686 (including service charge)
Your purpose will be: To take pride in creating the finest presentation of guest bedrooms and public areas of the hotel, always ensuring consistency in our standards and exceeding guest expectations. You will start by specialising in guest rooms and have the opportunity to develop your skills to include public areas, laundry, and cloakroom to become a well-rounded multi-skilled Guest Servicing Agent.
Responsibilities
- Undertaking all servicing requirements of our guests in line with our service standards while taking every opportunity for memorable personalisation.
- Handling guest requests, belongings, and personal items with the utmost care, security, and discretion.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness in public areas.
- Engaging in meaningful conversations to create memorable moments for guests.
- Processing guest garments and staff uniforms with care.
- Putting guests first at all times.
Additional Responsibilities
- Preparing guest rooms and public areas.
- Ensuring all areas are cleaned and presented within the allocated time frame.
- Replenishing mini-bar items and replacing glasses, mugs, and cutlery.
- Reporting maintenance or cleanliness issues and following up until resolved.
- Inspecting and preparing rooms for check-in and check-out.
- Completing room audits.
- Keeping service areas tidy and clear.
- Cleaning and maintaining public areas.
- Assisting in guest cloakrooms and providing directions and assistance to guests.
- Handling guest property securely and liaising with security as needed.
- Replenishing and maintaining cleanliness of service items and public facilities.
- Assisting in laundry and valet services, including processing laundry and pressing.
- Helping with packing/unpacking and room moves.
- Polishing guest shoes and processing charges accurately.
- Performing garment repairs and operating laundry equipment correctly.
- Managing linen stocks and inventory.
- Processing staff uniforms and communicating damages or missing items.
- Sharing knowledge of hotel services with guests.
- Ensuring the safe use of master room keys.
- Performing other duties as assigned by Housekeeping leadership.
Qualifications
Essential
- Ability to kneel, push, pull, lift, carry, reach, stand, and walk frequently.
- Good organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and quickly.
- Warm, enthusiastic, and positive personality with good relationship-building skills.
- Flexible attitude and adaptability.
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Responsible, able to follow directions, and capable of working independently.
- Desire to develop skills in public areas, laundry, and cloakroom.
Desirable
- Minimum of 1 year experience in hospitality, with at least 6 months in housekeeping.
- Flexibility to work 40 hours weekly, including weekends, mornings, and evenings, with possible longer hours.
- Excellent communication skills.
