Job description

As a Roofer Multi your role will involve carrying out predominantly reactive maintenance, repairing and renewing sections on a wide variety of different roof types, (residential and communal), i.e. slate tile repairs, flat roof / torch on repairs & general roof maintenance. You will also repair and renew guttering, work on scaffolds and carry out scaffold inspections.

The Roofer Multi will cover most aspects of property maintenance, taking ownership of work, aiming for 'First time Fix' on all jobs, operating within Health and Safety guidelines, and remaining within budget and time parameters.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Inspect, assess, and diagnose roof issues on a variety of roof types, including pitched, flat, and heritage roofs.
  • Carry out reactive and planned roofing works, including:
    • Re-roofing and roof replacements (e.g. slate, tile, felt, GRP, asphalt)
    • Minor and major roof repairs
    • Installation of roofline products (fascias, soffits, gutters)
    • Flashing, lead work, and chimney repairs
    • Installation and repair of roof windows and skylights
  • Identify and report on any additional works or safety issues observed during site visits.
  • Ensure all work complies with current building regulations, health & safety standards, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Take ownership of assigned work, aiming to resolve issues on the first visit to minimise repeat visits and disruptions.
  • Complete tasks within allocated budgets and timelines to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Operate in accordance with company Health and Safety policies to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Keep up to date with the latest technical advancements and legal requirements relevant to your areas of expertise.
  • Execute duties with minimal supervision whilst maintaining professionalism and a strong commitment to quality.

Accountabilities:

  • Advising your supervisor or planner/scheduler in a timely manner when support may be required.
  • Working in partnership with other trades to complete projects.
  • Recording and submitting accurate data using relevant business systems electronic devices.
  • Affording excellent customer service to client representatives.
  • Arranging purchase of materials required to deliver the works in a planned and efficient manner.
  • Always comply with safeguarding policy and H&S standards.
  • Operating within the company's occupational road risk policies and procedures

Essential and Desirable Criteria

Essential:

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • PASMA trained and experience of carrying out scaffold inspections (training will be provided if you do not have this)
  • Good knowledge of H&S and working at height
  • Certificate or NVQ at level 2 or 3 in Roofing, or equivalent experience.
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Social Housing Experience
  • Previous experience in Voids or Property repairs/maintenance

Additionally:

You must possess a high degree of manual dexterity as there will be frequent use of small power and hand tools

  • You will be required to work at height or uneven ground
  • You must also be able to work within a confined space, without restriction
