Job summary

Together Housing Group is seeking an experienced Roofer to join our Calderdale team. You will repair and maintain a range of properties, ensuring safety, quality workmanship, and excellent customer service.

Role requires driving licence and the ability to work across multiple locations. Expect a 37-hour week, with varied start times, and a Local Government Pension Scheme. Company van provided for business use.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence.
• Proven experience across roofing and building repairs and maintenance.
• Experience delivering excellent customer service.
• Ability to maximise efficiency by completing repairs in a single visit where possible.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation relevant to building work.
• Basic IT and mobile technology skills; literacy and numeracy.
• Ability to multi-skill to related trades such as plastering.
• Ideally a City & Guilds Advanced Craft Certificate in Roofing (NVQ Level 2+).
• Starting salary of £33,758 per annum.
• Personal use of the company van.
• 27 days holiday (rising to 32 over 5 years’ service) + bank holidays.
• 37 hours per week, Mon-Sat, varies with business needs.
• LGPS pension scheme.

Responsibilities

• Carry out roofing repairs to tenanted and vacant properties to high quality standards.
• Aim for first-time repairs and maintain workmanship across tasks.
• Measure materials accurately for procurement and cost control.
• Deliver excellent customer care and keep sites clean and tidy.
• Perform risk assessments before starting work.
• Diagnose problems and carry out efficient repairs.
• Manage company vehicles, tools, and materials and report defects.
