Job Title: Temporary Roofer

Location: Florfield Depot, Hackney Council

Job Category: Technical – Skilled Facilities

Hours Per Week: 36.00

End Date: 26/04/2024

Start Time: 08:00

End Time: 16:15

Salary: £20.25

Purpose of Job:

To support Hackney Council in providing high-quality cyclical, planned, and reactive repairs and maintenance services across the London Borough of Hackney and other locations as directed, for both occupied and unoccupied properties, public buildings, and external areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Carry out roofing repairs and maintenance to the highest standards.
  2. Trace and repair roof leaks (leak detection).
  3. Renew tiles and slates in small areas.
  4. Repair and maintain guttering and rainwater downpipes, including testing gullies and reporting findings (using Sky vac).
  5. Conduct scaffold inspections.
  6. Perform flashing repairs and renewals.
  7. Carry out asphalt repairs using hot gun and trowel.
  8. Perform felt repairs.
  9. Collaborate with plumbers to carry out general plumbing work.

Ensure all work is delivered with the highest level of workmanship, in compliance with legislative standards, performance standards, and Hackney Council’s specifications and procedures.
