Job summary

A construction contracting company is seeking a Skilled Roofer with Solar PV installation experience in Reading. You will be responsible for installing Solar PV systems and performing various roofing tasks such as rectifying defects and removing coverings. The ideal candidate will have NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Roofing, experience in roofing maintenance, and own tools. A UK driving licence and asbestos awareness certification are also required.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Installing Solar PV systems and completing associated roofing works

• Identifying and rectifying roofing defects

• Surveying and replacing slates/tiles in isolated areas

• Removing and replacing full roof coverings across various roof styles

• Re-bedding and renewing hip and ridge tiles

• Pointing, repairing, rebuilding chimney stacks and renewing chimney pots

• Repairing mineral felt and asphalt flat roof coverings

• Renewing and repairing lead flashing on chimneys and lead upstands

• Liaising directly with customers to schedule and carry out work, interpreting written and verbal instructions including drawings, diagrams, and using measuring tools

What We're Looking For:

• Time-served tradesperson or completion of a recognised apprenticeship with NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Roofing

• Proven experience in all aspects of roofing, particularly maintenance work on domestic properties and high-rise buildings

• Valid UK driving licence

• Skilled worker CSCS card (beneficial)
