A leading recruitment company is seeking an experienced Rolling Stock Technician to join a production team in North London, focusing on diagnostics, modifications, and repairs. The role requires experience in mechanical or electrical engineering and offers competitive hourly pay rates with initial shifts during the day. The ideal candidate must be able to work effectively in a team and follow safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • Experience in mechanical/electrical engineering or process environment, Rail or Automotive sector.
  • Ability to accurately record actions and operations according to procedures.
  • Knowledge of health & safety, including biohazards, manual handling, and COSHH.

  • Undertake production, modifications, diagnostics, and repair of wheelsets/rolling stock components.
  • Assist team members with production duties to develop technical skills.
  • Work as part of the Production Engineering team.

Job description

Technician - Rolling Stock (Trains)

Contract Duration: 12 months

Location: North London

Pay Rates:

Umbrella -

115% Shift rate of £23.49 per hour for the first 4 weeks (Day shifts), increasing to 130% shift rate of £26.56 per hour thereafter.

PAYE -

115% shift rate of £18.86 per hour for the first 4 weeks (Day shifts), increasing to 130% shift rate of £21.32 per hour thereafter.

Shift pattern: Days initially (4 weeks), then a combination of Days and Lates, Nights TBC.

Our leading Rolling Stock client is seeking an experienced Rolling Stock (Rail) Technician to join their Production Team, supporting diagnostics, modifications, and repairs of their Rolling Stock fleet within a busy depot environment.

Description:

  • Undertake production, modifications, diagnostics, and repair of wheelsets/rolling stock components with minimal supervision, following all processes and procedures.
  • Assist team members with production duties to develop technical skills.
  • Work as part of the Production Engineering team, focusing on mechanical production duties.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Experience in mechanical/electrical engineering or process environment, Rail or Automotive sector.
  • Experience with basic fault finding.
  • Ability to accurately record actions and operations according to procedures.
  • Care for tools, equipment, and PPE.
  • Knowledge of health & safety, including biohazards, manual handling, and COSHH.
  • Proficient in computer use.
  • Ability to interpret technical publications.
  • Ability to produce detailed, complex technical reports.
