Job summary

Ford & Stanley Talentwise are recruiting Mechanical Assemblers to join the rolling stock team. You will assemble and overhaul mechanical components for trains, including brake systems and bogie components, following detailed drawings and procedures.

Shifts include early and late rotations; this is an Inside IR35 contract paying £23.18 per hour. The role involves working in a safety‑critical environment, maintaining records and contributing to on‑time rolling stock maintenance.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and work to Mechanical Drawings
• High attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks well
• Able to use a variety of machines and hand tools
• Able to work autonomously as well as part of a team
• Knowledge and experience in promoting safe working practices in a safety‑critical workplace
• Able to maintain accurate records

Responsibilities

• Assemble and overhaul mechanical components to trains.
• Repair and overhaul brake systems and bogie components.
• Strip products within braking systems to the required specifications.
• Follow drawings, procedures and instructions to accurately assemble components on a train.
• Use a range of tools and equipment to complete assemblies efficiently.
