Somerfield Te Kura Wairepo is looking for a positive and motivated teacher to take our term 4 new entrant class. Full-time, fixed-term starting 6 October 2025. We are a kura committed to fostering strong teaching and learning relationships with our tamariki, whānau, community and colleagues, ensuring the best possible outcomes for all students.

About the role:

We are looking for a kaiako | teacher who:

  • Is organised, motivated and committed to quality teaching and learning.
  • Demonstrates strong culturally responsive practice in all aspects of their teaching and learning.
  • Is relationship-focused in their pedagogical practice and willing to adopt Teaching to the North-East principles.
  • Is familiar with structured literacy and mathematics – this is an advantage, but not necessary, as training in these areas is ongoing.
  • Is eager to participate in the wider life of the school and contribute to our vibrant community.
  • Brings their own interests and skills to enrich the learning experience for our students.
  • Has personal values and attitudes that align with our kura.
