Job summary

Roxel UK is seeking a motivated chemistry/materials scientist to join the Energetics and Materials Team based at Summerfield, Kidderminster. You will contribute to the research, development and manufacture of high performance rocket motors and related systems.

You will develop expertise in energetic materials, participate in small-scale manufacture and testing, and present findings to internal and external stakeholders through specialist training and on-the-job learning.

Qualifications

• Essential qualifications include a higher level qualification in science-based subject, such as HNC/HND.
• Degree in chemistry is required; chartered membership would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Developing and monitoring propellant to meet energy, mechanical and ballistic requirements.
• Improving, driving efficiencies and standardising manufacturing processes.
• Qualifying propellant and materials to recognised defence and internal standards.
• Managing materials stocks, quality and compliance with legislation.
• Technically supporting production on a day-to-day basis and compiling methods/documents.
