Salary: £50k plus £12k shift allowance + 9% yearly bonus

Location: Brinsworth

Hours: Full time shift role (12hr days & 12hr night, 24/7/365 days a year)

Overview

A world-leading industrial gases and engineering company require a Shift Manager at their ROC (Remote Operations Centre) near Rotherham. Reporting to the Plant Manager you will be responsible for the safe, efficient operation and monitoring of the companies plants on a 24-hour basis.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for investigating plant issues, managing plant disturbances, reporting plant performance issues, KPI monitoring and alarm management.
  • In addition, you will be responsible for plant start-up situations to ensure customer demand is managed appropriately to minimise cost to the business.
  • Carry out plant efficiency evaluations to identify plant performance issues and make appropriate recommendations for improvements.
  • Furthermore, you will be responsible for the operation of our plants to minimise process safety implications and ensure KPI's are upheld.
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping whilst contributing to the site safety management system.
  • Ensure all site operations are carried out safely, and in accordance with the company and statutory operating and safety standards.
  • Contribute fully to all site and business quality, safety and environmental initiatives.
Requirements
  • Suitable candidates ideally will be educated to HNC in an electrical, instrumentation, chemical engineering or chemical process subject.
  • Time served experience of operating in an Oil, Gases, Petro-chemical or pharmaceutical/chemical process environment preferably, which involves fractional distillation and high pressure transfer schemes and pipelines.
  • You ideally will have previous experience in control room operation and using process interfaces such as HMI software/SCADA/ PCS7 Siemens.
  • In addition, you have experience of working with piping and instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), plant schematics and Process Flow Diagrams (PFD).
  • Ability to troubleshoot, fault find and investigate process issues using data trending applications.
  • Plant commissioning experience is an advantage.
  • You also have strong relationship management and team working abilities within a control room environment.
  • Knowledge of Permit to Work procedures and relevant emergency plans.
  • A knowledge of Air Separation operation or similar plant is desirable.
  • You must have a high level of personal Integrity.
