Job summary

Proactive is seeking a Robotics Assembly Technician in Stratford to join a market-leading robotics company. You will assemble, test, and install electro-mechanical systems, working alongside engineers and project managers to deliver high-quality product builds.

Role involves electrical wiring, wiring harnesses, and panel wiring, with some weekend support and occasional travel across the UK/Europe. A strong hands-on technical mindset and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on technician with 4+ years in engineering/manufacturing.
• Experience with power and control panel wiring.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings.
• Experience interpreting assembly instructions, technical drawings and 3D CAD assemblies.
• Competent in routing and terminating electrical wiring, cabling and conduit.
• Confident using a wide range of workshop tools safely.
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills with a practical engineering mindset.
• High attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical assembly, wiring and functional testing of products in the workshop and at customer sites.
• Assemble, test and install complex electro-mechanical systems to engineering specifications.
• Build, inspect and test mechanical and electrical sub-assemblies used across multiple product lines.
• Ensure all work is completed to the highest quality standards with full component traceability.
• Diagnose and resolve assembly, wiring and mechanical issues to minimise delays.
• Provide feedback to Engineering and Production teams to support improvements.
• Work with Engineers, Technicians and Project Managers to deliver projects on schedule.
• Maintain a safe, organised and efficient working environment.

Job description

Role: Robotics Assembly Technician

Location: Stratford

Salary: £50,000

Proactive are currently in search of an experienced Robotics Assembly Technician on a permanent basis to start work for a market leading robotics company in Stratford.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly expanding engineering business where you will play an important role in the assembly, testing and installation of sophisticated electro-mechanical equipment. Working alongside experienced Engineers, Technicians and Project Managers, you will contribute to both product builds and continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical assembly, wiring and functional testing of products in the workshop and at customer sites.
• Assemble, test and install complex electro-mechanical systems to engineering specifications.
• Build, inspect and test mechanical and electrical sub-assemblies used across multiple product lines.
• Ensure all work is completed to the highest quality standards whilst maintaining full component traceability.
• Diagnose and resolve assembly, wiring and mechanical issues to minimise production delays.
• Provide feedback to Engineering and Production teams to support continuous improvement of products and manufacturing processes.
• Work closely with Engineers, Technicians and Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered on schedule.
• Maintain a safe, organised and efficient working environment.

Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 4 years' experience in a hands-on technician or assembly role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Strong experience with power and control panel wiring.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret electrical schematics and identify any discrepancies.
• Experience interpreting engineering documentation including assembly instructions, technical drawings and 3D CAD assemblies.
• Competent in routing and terminating electrical wiring, cabling, pneumatic tubing and conduit.
• Confident using a wide range of workshop equipment, hand tools and power tools safely.
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills with a practical engineering mindset.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to producing work to a consistently high standard.
• Proactive approach to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement within assembly and manufacturing processes.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
• Flexible approach to work, with willingness to support occasional weekend work (time off in lieu provided).
