Job summary

Proactive Global in London is seeking a Build/Assembly Technician (Electromechanical/Mechatronics) for an initial 3–4 month contract. You will assemble, test and integrate complex electromechanical components into robotic systems, working closely with hardware engineers and manufacturing teams.

The role offers up to £35ph, negotiable by experience, with opportunities to travel to international offices and participate in a stock option plan.

Qualifications

• Hands-on electromechanical assembly or low-volume production experience.
• Experience with robotics, aerospace, automotive or similar industries.
• Able to read CAD models, drawings and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Assemble electromechanical components using CAD models and drawings.
• Perform precision mechanical assembly with hand tools and torque wrenches.
• Route, secure and label wiring harnesses per specifications.
• Test assemblies with electrical test equipment and jigs.
• Record test results and maintain asset tracking.
• Maintain a safe, clean workshop environment.
• Collaborate with engineers to improve build quality and reliability.

Build/Assembly Technicians Required ASAP London (Advanced Robotics) Immediate starts available - Up to £35ph (negotiable depending on previous experience.

Role: Build/Assembly Technician (Electromechanical / Mechatronics)

Location: London

Duration: 3-4 months initially, could be extended beyond this

Rates: Up to £35ph (Negotiable depending on previous experience)

You'll be responsible for assembling, testing, and integrating complex electromechanical components into fully functional robotic systems. Working closely with hardware engineers, systems integration specialists, and manufacturing teams, you'll play a key role in ensuring build quality, accuracy, and reliability within a fast-paced R&D environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble electromechanical components and systems using CAD models, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Carry out precision mechanical assembly using hand tools, torque wrenches, crimping tools, and other workshop equipment.
• Route, secure, and label wiring harnesses according to specifications.
• Test assemblies using electrical test equipment, jigs, fixtures, and computing devices.
• Record test results, maintain quality standards, and ensure accurate asset tracking.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised workshop environment.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to improve build quality, efficiency, and reliability.

What We're Looking For

• Hands-on experience in electromechanical assembly or low-volume production of complex systems.
• Experience working with electromechanical equipment, ideally within robotics, aerospace, automotive, or a similar industry.
• Ability to interpret CAD models, mechanical drawings, and wiring diagrams.
• Practical experience using workshop tools, fixtures, soldering equipment, and torque tools.
• Excellent attention to detail, with a strong focus on quality and safety.
• A proactive, organised approach and the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
