Job summary

Thehumanoid, based in Greater London, is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to develop device software for UMI data collection devices. This role requires hands-on experience in embedded software and proficiency in C++ and/or Python.

Qualifications

• Experience in embedded or device-level software in a robotics or sensing context.
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Python for real-time sensor drivers.
• Solid understanding of multi-modal sensor synchronisation.
• Familiarity with camera pipelines and data reporting.
• Strong instincts around data quality and hygiene.
• Proven ability to debug on real hardware.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain device software across the full episode lifecycle.
• Integrate and synchronise sensor streams into temporally-aligned trajectories.
• Define and maintain data contracts between UMI devices and the AI team.
• Build data validation tooling to ensure clean training datasets.
• Own operator-facing device software with user interfaces.
• Support field data collection sessions and validate data quality.
• Debug integration failures on device hardware.
