Job summary

Omega Resource Group seeks a Welding Process Engineer to develop, optimise and maintain automated welding processes for production and new product introduction. You will define welding parameters and robust procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality welds across multiple projects.

Reporting to the manufacturing team, you will support audits, drive continuous improvement using lean tools, and collaborate with Design and Quality to enhance manufacturability and process capability.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical engineering processes.
• Proven experience with automated or robotic welding systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate and optimise welding processes for production and NPI.
• Define and control welding parameters to ensure robust, high-quality welds.
• Support audits and drive corrective actions to improve weld quality and reduce scrap.
• Lead problem-solving activities (5 Whys, Fishbone, PFMEA) for welding issues.
• Specify, commission and validate automated welding equipment, fixtures and tooling.
• Collaborate with Design, Production, and Quality teams to improve manufacturability.
