Job summary

SMS Personnel Australia Pty Ltd in Kilsyth is seeking a factory hand to learn how to operate robot welding machines on a night shift. Full training provided and a long-term career opportunity close to home in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.

You will set and load robots to produce fabricated vehicle parts, identify non-conforming parts, troubleshoot, and read SOPs and drawings. Experience in metal fabrication is preferred; you should be detail-oriented and able to follow production schedules.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and dexterity.
• Manufacturing or factory experience or knowledge.
• High attention to detail and ability to follow production schedules.
• Experience in metal fabrication manufacturing.
• Ability to perform repetitive work and meet targets.

Responsibilities

• Set and load robot to produce fabricated vehicle parts such as mounting brackets and sub-assemblies for bull bars.
• Identify and segregate non-conforming parts.
• Troubleshooting.
• Tack welding as needed.
• Read and understand Standard Operating Procedures and drawings.
