Roastery Assistant - Elsewhere Coffee (Deptford)

About Us: Elsewhere is a specialty coffee roastery nestled in vibrant Deptford. We’re known for sourcing interesting coffees from across the globe, and aim to create remarkable coffee experiences through meticulous roasting processes and quality control.

The Role: We’re on the hunt for a dedicated Roastery Assistant to join our team. This hands-on position is ideal for someone with a strong work ethic who thrives in a physically demanding environment and has keen attention to detail. The role offers a pathway to becoming a roaster for those who demonstrate commitment and aptitude.

Key Responsibilities: Weighing and preparing batches of green coffee for roasting Packing freshly roasted coffee into bags and preparing orders for shipment Maintaining detailed records and performing data entry Following strict protocols for cleaning and equipment maintenance Assisting with quality control procedures Heavy lifting (up to 25kg) and repetitive tasks General warehouse duties

Requirements: Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods Meticulous attention to detail and consistency Strong organisational skills and ability to follow detailed instructions Basic computer literacy for data entry and record keeping Reliability and punctuality Enthusiasm for specialty coffee Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Experience: No prior coffee experience necessary - we’ll provide comprehensive training.
