Qualifications

• HGV/LGV Licence, Class 1 required.
• Experience driving in rural and urban areas and understanding of EC Drivers Hours.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Roamer/Tramper HGV Driver to join our team at our Operation Centre in Peterlee, SR8 2JQ.

Copart is the global leader in online vehicle remarketing and recycling, partnering with many of the world's leading insurance companies, banks, automotive dealers, fleet, and rental car companies.

Your home location will be Peterlee, but you will be required to travel to other operation centres to assist with holiday cover and increased workload. You will complete 3 to 4 overnights per week, receiving an additional overnight allowance.

The role involves collecting and delivering accident-damaged vehicles of all types on salvage transporters. It can be physically demanding. You will perform checks on trucks and equipment, report defects, photograph damages, and inspect vehicles. As a professional driver, you must operate vehicles and loading equipment safely and in accordance with legal and company standards.

Salary expectation: approximately £44,500 based on 6 vehicle collections per day, plus overnight allowances.

Requirements:

1. HGV/LGV Licence, Class 1
2. Current CPC
3. Understanding of EC Drivers Hours and Working Time regulations
4. Experience driving in rural and urban areas

7. Comfort with handheld devices and basic IT
8. Organisational skills and adaptability
9. Experience in car transportation or recovery (advantageous but not essential)
