Do you have what it takes to be Car Transporter Driver? Do you live within 45 minutes of our Peterlee operation centre at SR8 2JQ?

Copart is the global leader in online vehicle remarketing and recycling, working in partnership with many of the world's leading insurance companies, banks, automotive dealers, fleet and rental car companies.

Your home location will be Peterlee, but you will be required to travel to other operation centres to assist them with holiday cover and increased workload. You will complete 3 to 4 overnights per week, for which you will receive an additional overnight allowance payment.

A Copart Driver loads, collects and delivers predominantly accident damaged vehicles of all shapes, sizes and conditions on our salvage transporters and therefore the role can be physically demanding. We work on behalf of our insurance and automotive customers to service agreements. They carry out internal and external checks on their trucks and equipment and report any defects, photograph any damage and carry out inspections of all collected and delivered vehicles. Copart Drivers must comply with legal and company requirements of a professional driver and operate the vehicle and loading equipment in a safe and efficient manner, following all H&S policies and procedures.

A reasonable salary expectation based on an average of 6 vehicle collections per day would be approx. £44,500 + an additional overnight allowance.

What we need from you:

  • HGV Licence Class 1 or Class 2
  • Current CPC
  • A good understanding of the EC Drivers Hours and Working Time regulations using a tachograph
  • Driving experience in both rural and urban environments
  • Great communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Flexibility
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Confident in the use of handheld devices, with experience in the use of basic IT applications
  • Adaptable, with the ability to organise and adjust your working day
  • Car transportation or recovery experience would be an advantage, but isn't essential

What we offer you in return:

  • Monday to Friday working - 3 to 4 overnights per week, for which you will receive an additional overnight allowance payment & no bank holiday working.
  • Time For You: Relax with 23 days of holiday plus bank holidays, and an extra day for a personal special occasion.
  • Give Back: Receive a paid day to volunteer for a charity of your choice.
  • Health & Wellness: Healthcare Cash Plan, allowing you to claim cash back on a range of healthcare products and services including dental, optical, chiropody, and specialist consultations, tests, and scans and Virtual GP access.
  • Appreciating You & Others: Celebrate special moments with access to our Recognition Hub and E-card collection.
  • Your Future: Join our contributory workplace pension scheme for financial security.
  • Investment: Purchase shares in our global company at a discounted rate.
  • Fitness & Health: Save money while commuting with our Cycle to Work Scheme and access fitness videos and gym discounts.
  • Life Assurance: Enjoy peace of mind with our life insurance coverage.
  • Exclusive Discounts: Access our deals hub for savings on everyday purchases and family activities.
  • Goal Support: Use tools like Mortgage Advice, Life Coaching, and our Money Hub to achieve your goals.
