Job summary

Middlesbrough Development Corporation is seeking a Roadworker 2 within Highways to support the Service Managers in responsive and planned highway maintenance works and other highway functions for the effective delivery of the service.

The successful candidate will work as part of the team to carry out repairs and replacements on the highway, including setting out, drainage, concreting, tarmac laying and related duties, with training towards relevant vehicle and plant qualifications.

Qualifications

• Ability to work to precise levels and specifications with good workmanship.
• Willingness to gain qualifications to operate specialist vehicles/equipment.
• Full current UK driving licence is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs and replacements on the highway, both reactive and planned.
• Set out and lay drainage, concrete products and tarmac as required.
• Erect and remove highway signs and barriers and undertake basic highway furniture tasks.
• Comply with Health & Safety policies to protect workforce and the public.
