Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Roadside Vehicle Technician to join our patrol team in the UK. The role offers a market competitive base salary of £42,921.87, with an average OTE of £43,000–£53,000 and a focus on helping members get back on the road quickly.

You’ll start and end your day at home, receive a RAC van, fuel card, full uniform and the necessary tools and diagnostic kit. A full UK driving licence is required with fewer than 6 points.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

• Deliver expert roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Start and end your day at home, tackling challenges head-on and making a real impact on the roadside.

Where you'll work

You'll be part of the Reading cluster, covering areas like Reading, Wokingham, Bracknell, Henley-on-Thames, Crowthorne, Sandhurst. You'll be part of the Oxford cluster, covering areas like Oxford, Abingdon, Didcot, Wantage, Witney, Bicester, Thame. We organise work locally so you can start and finish at home, focusing your day on getting members back on the road in your local area.

What you'll need

• Either: NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

As a Roadside Technician within our Patrol division, you'll deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
