Job summary

RAC is seeking a skilled Roadside Technician to diagnose and repair vehicles at the roadside, helping members back on the road quickly and safely. You will operate within a local Bournemouth cluster, starting and finishing from home while covering nearby towns and rural roads in your area.

With a Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) and 2+ years' experience, you’ll work a 40-hour-week pattern with optional overtime. RAC supplies a van, tools, and full uniform to set you up for success.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience.
• 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver roadside repairs, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Start and finish your day at home, with an RAC van and diagnostic kit provided.

You’ll be part of the Bournemouth cluster, covering areas like Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, Wimborne, Ringwood, Wareham, Swanage. We organise work locally so you can start and finish at home, focusing your day on getting members back on the road in your local area.
