Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician for the Oldham/Bury area. You will perform mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. Start and finish your day at home, with a focus on quickly getting members back on the road.

The role offers a base salary of £36,400 with a realistic OTE of £60,000, and includes a RAC van, fuel card, uniform, tools, and diagnostic kit. Flexible overtime is available, and location is Oldham in Greater Manchester.

• Demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week, with optional overtime available.

Where you'll work

You’ll be part of the Oldham / Bury cluster, covering areas like Oldham, Bury, Rochdale, Middleton, Chadderton, Failsworth, Whitefield, Prestwich, Radcliffe, Heywood, Ramsbottom. We organise work locally so you can start and finish at home, focusing your day on getting members back on the road in your local area.

What you’ll need

As a Roadside Technician within our Patrol division, you’ll deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. Whether it’s a flat battery, tyre change, or complex fault-finding, you’ll provide quick, confident solutions and reassurance when our members need it most. You’ll start and end your day at home, tackling challenges head‑on and making a real impact on the roadside - combining your technical expertise with outstanding member service.

We’ll set you up for success from day one, with your own RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools, and diagnostic kit all provided.
