Job summary

The RAC Motoring Services is seeking a Roadside Technician in the UK. With a Level 2 LV Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) and 2+ years of experience, you will perform roadside repairs, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support, serving local RAC members and covering your area from home base.

You will receive a base salary of £36,400 with a realistic OTE of £60,000, along with an RAC van, fuel card, tools and diagnostic kit.

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years experience.
• 5+ years experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic and a full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Fault diagnostics, tyre changes, or battery work as required to get members back on the road.

As a Roadside Technician with a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equilavent) and at least 2 years' experience, youll receive: A market-competitive base salary of £36,400 and a realistic OTE of £60,000, with top-performers earning significantly more through bonuses and enhanced overtime rates. Start and finish on your driveway. Demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week, with optional overtime available.Where youll work Youll be part of the Leicester cluster, covering areas like Leicester, Oadby, Wigston, Hinckley, Melton Mowbray, Market Harborough, Loughborough. We organise work locally so you can start and finish at home, focusing your day on getting members back on the road in your local area.

What youll need

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years experience
• 5+ years experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanicand A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
• As a Roadside Technician within our Patrol division, youll deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. Whether its a flat battery, tyre change, or complex fault-finding, youll provide quick, confident solutions and reassurance when our members need it most.
