Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Roadside Technician (field-based) to provide roadside assistance for a national breakdown provider, based in Cardiff. The role offers a strong base salary with overtime and bonus opportunities and potential earnings exceeding £60,000 OTE.

You will attend roadside breakdowns, perform repairs, use diagnostic tools, and advise on next steps to keep members mobile. A Level 2/3 qualification and a full UK driving licence are required, with at least 2 years

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Level 3 qualification preferred (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles.
• Full UK driving licence – max 6 points, no bans.

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs at the roadside.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn’t possible, ensuring member mobility.
